I got a request last week for a mad science cake. Little did I know it would include a dissected frog! I have never dissected a frog myself, but I imagine making one out of sugar is much better than having to do the real thing. My favorite part about this cake were the bubbles. You can't tell in the picture but I put some luster dust on them so that they shimmered.
This was a chocolate cake with cookies and cream buttercream. It seems to be a trend!

Now , we all know that I love a good party. My little man turns 5 in just over a month and the party planning is in full force around here. we really don't mess around. But, when I found out that there were so many kids in our area that were not fortunate enough to have a birthday party or even just a cake, it broke my heart.
I made this cake as donation to an organization that provides birthday parties for kids living local shelters. These kids would probably not have a birthday or party at all otherwise. It is a great way to help make some child's birthday
one to remember.
I made this cake for a little girl who was turning 4 and loves princesses. I made the top towers from fondant and gumpaste and the princess was my first real attempt at figure molding. I am super happy with how it turned out and hope that it provided a fabulous birthday for a little girl who I know really deserved one.
